Still Life with China Cup and Peruvian Lilies

Another still life…I spent two painting sessions on this piece of 3-4 hours each. It’s painted on Arches Oil Paper – first time I’ve used this product. I like it very much. Seems to be quite durable and the oil hasn’t been absorbed into the paper as I feared it might. It’s textured enough to give the brush a light drag, and not slick. I did nothing to prep the paper – used it as is, out of the box. Haven’t decided yet whether I will mount it on a board or frame it with a mat, etc. The painting is approximately 12″x12″.
