My Studio

I decided just to play today with this still life of objects from my studio; my favorite gold bird, a Pfaltzgraf jug, a blue glass vase and a postcard with a little drawing of a face done by Monet when he was young. I set up some objects on a table, let others float and moved shapes around freely without having a particular design in mind. It was very freeing and fun. Some of the shapes began to look like animals so I went with that. I’ve always loved the work of Marc Chagall and hopefully, captured some of the joyfulness of his art. The ‘question mark’ handle came last. What and how to use this in future paintings? The painting is a 16×20 oil on panel.
